After extended research on this topic, I finally found out how exactly this is calculated. I'm still not entirely sure though, so feel free to correct me.

Some guy asked X-Legend what is the cap for attack speed, and they answer that it's 0.5.

Meaning that, as long as you have enough speed for your specific weapon to get to 0.5, you'll be dealing 2 hits per second.

Each weapons' speed is as follow:

    • Sword & Shield - 2.2s
    • Axe - 2.6s
    • Dual Blade - 1.8s
    • Dual Pistol - 1.5s
    • Cannon - 2.3s
    • Harp - 1.8s
    • Staff - 2.2s
    • Grimoire - 2.0s
    • Katar - 1.6s
    • Bow - 1.9s
    • Tachi - 1.8s
    • Scythe - 2.0s
    • Holy Sword - 2.0s
    • Shinobi - 2.2s
    • Lancer - 1.9s

After some calculation, the estimate amount of speed you need for each weapon to auto attack twice per second is:

    • Sword & Shield - 77%
    • Axe - 81%
    • Dual Blade - 72%
    • Dual Pistol - 67%
    • Cannon - 78%
    • Harp - 72%
    • Staff - 77%
    • Grimoire - 75%
    • Katar - 69%
    • Bow - 74%
    • Tachi - 72%
    • Scythe - 75%
    • Holy Sword - 75%
    • Shinobi - 77%
    • Lancer - 74%

For those of you who does not run Lion's Roar bottom set, don't get to scared.

Remember those 2% speed SS that no one wants? Those adds normal/auto attack speed. So lets say you're a grenadier with 50% speed + 25% from eidolon. You stlil need 3% more speed. Put in 2 more of the 2% speed SS and you'll have yourself the same effect. The catch is, getting 50% speed, as a grenadier.

I'm still researching if "Attack Swiftness" from envoy works the same way.
