PVP and sub suggestion (IMO)

  • Written by: Lionstaring at our current content (pre-lv70 gears)

Since I feel like a lot of people may have some question about this, I thought it would be nice to share my thoughts on this topic. I will not touch on the cons of each class because my purpose is to inspire people to choose a class that fits them most. This is an opinion from my knowledge of playing this game so far. It is by no mean a "fact" and should only be taken as a suggestion. If you have any other thoughts you would like to share, feel free to post it in the comment section :).

  • These are reviews according to simulation in my head if pvp was full of +30
Don't read this if you can't afford +30

    Holy Sword

    1.Strong consistent charged damage
2.Unpredictable when zeal procs or under multiplier bonuses
3.Can be played as Tank, Nuker or middle. Either is the best
    4.Just make one

1.Slow Class and deals less damage on non-boosted skills. (To fix this, you must learn how to make your skills land at once. Thunderstrike + Demonslayer etc)
2.Predictable casting time. There's a bug that exist where your skill will miss if the target moves away too fast.
If you cast way too slow, clever people will pull this off. (No worries, there's barely any good people. just nuke lol)

All this cons only affects new players.

1.Have a deadly and unpredictable combo (Sparks and flames + Lotus Strike)
2.Have an innate defensive abilities. (Damage taken bonus, Heal and dispel everytime enemy misses)
3.Has 2 mobility skills to move around.
    4.Great Class

1.Other skills deal low damage, decent when boosted.

2.Sparks + lotus is your only threatening skill against someone at your level (its still too good though)

    1.Non-stop spellcaster
2.Has an innate defensive abilities (Heal, Dispel, Shield, Crit-rate debuff)
3.Has an innate offensive support abilities (Def Shred, Eva shred, DT shred)
    4.Spawn Kill Specialist (Nightmare totem)
5.Can be played as a ranged poisonist or a non-stop spellcaster. (Void + Skillsets)

1.Low base skill damage but your debuffs and ability to cast powerful skills non-stop fixes that.

1.Unpredictable damage when under Frenzied Blades and 3x Cross Slash (Much worse when using green path)
2.Has a defensive skill called "Somersault" that enables you to dodge anything as well as boosting your damage.
3.Massive DoT to counter ballad and Low HP people.
4.Abusing somersault and landing a high multiplier skill makes you deal damage comparable to other classes.

1.Mastering Somersault makes the class hard, better off forgetting that it exist in PVP.
2.Odd casting time might make you panic and smash random buttons (slightly fixed by equipping +25 attack speed eido)
3.Balisong is unreliable and the best way to use it is as killing blow.
4.You only exist to annoy people if right gear isn't met.
5.Deadly Wink is your only "nuke" skill and you are horribly weak offensively without Frenzied Blades.
6.Can be OP if mastered. But considering other classes deal same damage with a little effort, you'd rather invest on them.

1.Have supportive debuffs against enemies (Anti-Heal, Slow, Ice, Def-shred etc)
2.Sonic Bomb is broken if landed on 5 units.
    3.Has innate zeal and shield.
    4.Can spawn kill

1.Decent class but deals low damage when using non-boosted skills.
2.Maintaining Dark Trap requires your mechanical knowledge about gunslinger. (Using slows, ice on time or
using as follow up after ally stunned etc)
3.Perfectly timed Sonic Bomb is your only broken skill.

1.Has free offensive innate stats from either buffs or abilities (Crit-rate, All-stats etc)
2.Two Disables you could play along (Hymn of doom, Frozen Lance)
3.Unpredictable damage due to shred abilities and bonus damage against people below 40% HP (Demolition Lance, Hymn of doom debuff etc)

1.Hymn of Doom misses if target moves away too fast before the skill fully lands.
2.gets bullied by reflect unless you learned ult (and getting an ult is kind of joke since bard sub is greatest sub in pvp but you could do this for desperate 1v1 reasons)
3.In middle of either too good or too bad

1.Highest % def shred in the game making it best def shred support
2.Low skill damage but your immense shred fixes that

1.Weak against high dt people because it only shreds def but since people will nuke for you, you're still a good class (What if you find a way to shred DT :/)
2.middle of either too good or too bad.
3.being a support while wielding a sword doesn't sound good
4.Too reliant on debuffs/buffs and backstab

1.The shred is too good and unpredictable.
You either take no damage then get oneshotted on the next one. (By the Ranger itself or its teammate)
2.Grants your whole team a zeal
3.A zeal abuser like hs, but slower
4.Have ultimates when you using bard sub (which is meta)

    1.Full shred takes time
2.Played at calm and slow pace to show its full potential (i just made charging sucks sound nice)
3.In middle of decent or too good
4.Worst class for newbies or people who like to press buttons a lot as it needs decision if you would charge or just jump cast the target.
You can't play it at a single state.

1.Anime Protagonist of AK as it gets stronger the longer the fight is.
2.Has an odd stackable boosts and almighty shred.
3.Actually tanky if buffs are on and build is right.
4.Can be played as ranged poisonist like Sorc
5.Damage can be full of surprises if all buffs are triggered.
6.Grants your team an increased defense

1.Horrible if soft as it needs long setup to be a God.
    2.Too much synergy to work.
3.A new player would think its trash as it needs so much spam of certain skill
to stack buffs and deal more damage. New players would go 1234 casting style like always.
4.Low skill damage but its buffs and debuffs fixes that but still a little con.
Except if you took shadowflame toss mastery +80% skill damage, that thing is a flame reaper meme but a good one.
No one expects a painful and spammable shadowflame toss.
Although, dark is still better as it takes less work and amplifies your dark puddle.
    5.Decent Class

    1.Controls movement of enemies
2.Has abilities to make yourself immortal
3.Windfury + roar takes quite a skill and not everyone is threatening so guards barely do this or never at all but would
be a threatening combo if game was alive. Best one yet is if guard pulls everyone then gunslinger would deal its sonic bomb's maximum damage.
4.the reflect is awesome if done right
    5.has stat reductions
    6.OP frontline class
    7.actually a great class

1.you barely get any kill without exotic subclass (just a little con, doesn't feel like a true con)

3.actually does its job and the best on it
    4.the living steroid

1.no cons at all, great class
2? Maybe lacks offense? but why would you do an offensive bard.

1.You're special because barely to no one plays grenadier on pvp
    2.op range
    3.op attack speed
    4.op disables
    5.big gun

1.your best damage is from charged mastery skill and ice/frost instant cast with auto attacks from jump cast
so basically, you're a big boy with them and a potato when those are on cooldown
2.you only exist to annoy people if the combo from con #1 is on cooldown
    3.decent class

    1.Op range
    2.Op disables
3.Suprisingly has a shred (ice puddle and ice runes)
    4.comfy class

    1.the animations are feminine
    2.your pov doesn't look cool
3.this class is consistent for what it does and thats what makes it good but not the best

1.Very annoying and moves too much, thank god tab exists
    2.skills are spammable
3.actually comfy except playing against one
    4.ez backstab
    5.consistent damage

1.if its 1v1, people can just press tab
    2.decent class

    1.Tanky when under full buff
2.Has Anti-heal with slow for chasing
3.Has stun if you took the mastery
    4.Have a close gap
5.Can position backstabs easily with soaring spam

1.Only tanky when under full buff (rage)
2.Proc'd Flame Slash is your only strong skill. Other is quite unreliable unless
you casted soaring first to buff them (Raging slash double-strike for example)
3.Decent because of its tanking potential, offensive is horrible against its level
and needs to much work to pull off (synergies and backstab).
    4.Badly needs a buff

You see, all of classes are decent and does the job that they're supposed to do.
But there's also broken parts of class that you cant deal with like a very lucky hs, you got shred as a non-dispel class, there's a bard on
    enemy team.

AK PVP is a badly balanced game due to extras from like free stats on quest, eidolon archive, wishes and all. (nice 4 star dark skill damage btw)
But this is how things would end up if everyone had perfect stats and gears.
Everything is literally decent and have their own unique peak strength.

It's just that, other classes does them with one button and timing or a little bit of luck.

I can't believe I typed this all, I'm so bored

  • I got some minor problem with pvp gear. There are 2 type of pvp gear, offensive type and defensive type, but i can't see the benefit in defensive type, most of us prefer offensive type. How about make some changes on defense make it more usable, because i can't see any benefit on defense when in battle.Evasion also is like nothing happen.
