    Hey everyone. This is going to be a remake of the old FAQ. I have a lot of the old FAQ stored away and a lot will be copy pasted to this new thread. Will also work on updating with any other known issues.


    This thread is to answer general tech issue problems with Aura Kingdom that players may run into. Some information on here might be outdated and will be replaced at any time. If you wish to have something added to this, just contact me via PM and I will review it.

    When posting a thread regarding your issue please provide as much information as you can on the issue so that when people read your problem, they can give better solutions.



    • Create a new thread, do not hijack or necro other people''s thread.
    • Clearly state the problem you are having. If there is any error information, either screenshot it or paste it into your thread. The more information the better.
    • If your game is crashing or having a graphical issue, please provide a copy of your DxDiag as this is something most of us will ask for.


      Posting a dxdiag

      • Press the Windows key + R and this will cause the Run Dialog box to appear.
      • Type "dxdiag" and select OK
      • When the DirectX Diagnostic tool opens, select "Save All Information" at the bottom of the screen and save the file.
      • Open the file and copy all the information in the file to your post.
    • If you have already tried other solutions, please let us know ahead of time. This stops us from posting ideas that you have already tried, making finding other solutions possible quicker.
    • Remember to be polite. Having a technical issue is a very frustrating process, but being calmed mind during these times can help us troubleshoot your issue easier. Also keep in mind that people who respond are just trying to help.
  • Cannot Connect to Server / HTTP Can't Connect


    If you receive a "Cannot Connect to Server" error while trying to log in to the game the first thing you will want to do is check to see if we are in maintenance or not. You can check the shoutbox on the Aura Kingdom forums and ask if it currently maintenance, or if other people are having problems as well.


    If the server is not in maintenance and other users are not having issues then chances are the problem is most likely on your end.


    First thing you will want to do is make sure any firewalls or antivirus you are running allow the _Launcher.exe to pass through. Since there are so many antivirus problems out there. We suggest using Google to do a search for "(Your Antivirus Name) add exception. This will most likely lead to guides on how to add exceptions to your antivirus.


    Also keep in mind that Windows has its own built in Firewall. Sometimes manually added exceptions need to be made.

    Keep in mind that the default location for _Launcher is C:\AeriaGames\AuraKingdom


    If the _Launcher.exe is allowed through your antivirus and firewall, the next thing you will want to do is run a tracert to the Aura Kingdom Servers. This will map out the connection between you and the server and show any possible trouble nodes along the way.


    Running a Tracert

    • Click on the Windows Key + R
    • Type in cmd
    • Click OK
    • Now in the command prompt type tracert followed by the IP Address that you are having trouble to reach. 108.163.135.166 is the log in server IP address for Aura Kingdom to my knowledge.

    Generally if you start getting readings of 300ms or higher, you may be experiencing disconnections or not be able to connect properly.


    If your antivirus and firewall allow the _Launcher.exe and the tracert has low pings, go ahead and start a new topic in the Technical Issues subforum on the Aura Kingdom Forums. Please include the steps you have already tried as well as a copy of the tracert.


    Trouble Downloading?


    If you are using the Aeria Downloader to download Aura Kingdom, you may run into an error that involves the downloader getting stuck near the end of downloading. It may stop responding or just freeze completely like the screenshot below:

    This is due to the downloader downloading empty files from the server, specifically the .EXE file, and being unable to continue with the installation. To fix it, please follow this guide accordingly.


    You may also experience an error that's like this while installing the game:

    • Delete all the files you have just downloaded that is either in C:\Program Files (x86)\AeriaGames\AuraKingdomUS\ for 64-bit PCs or C:\Program Files\AeriaGames\AuraKingdomUS\ for 32-bit PCs
    • Download all of the .BIN files + .EXE file mentioned in this link. Put them in one folder and run the .EXE file after downloading.

    If the corrupted file error above still persists, try the following options:

    Lag and Disconnections


    If you are experiencing lag there are generally two things to check.

    • First you want to make sure your computer meets the System Requirements

      If you do not meet the requirements, chances are your game will lag and be nearly impossible to play. Most commonly the people that do not meet the system requirements are those that are trying to play Aura Kingdom on an outdated laptop or netbook. Netbooks are just not designed to be able to handle games like Aura Kingdom. Outdated computers also will have trouble keeping up with the requirements of the game.

    • The lag that most people will experience is that of their connection, the connection between them and the server, or possibly the server itself.
      • Your Connection - Let's face it, not all of us have the best connections in the world. Sometimes they go down from time to time or our ISP is conducting maintenance in our area. If you have been playing just fine and suddenly start to lag, try a few other sties and see if you are lagging there as well. If they are also lagging, then it might be that your internet is acting up. Some places in the world have problems during peak hours when everybody is getting home from work and school and decide to all go online at the same time. Generally these problems clear in a few hours. However, if this goes on for a longer period of time, you should contact your ISP to see if it is on their end. Also it does not hurt to restart your modem and router sometimes to see if that clears up any errors.
      • The Connection Between You and The Aura Kingdom Servers - This is a common cause of the lag that people experience. When you connect to the Aura Kingdom servers you are not magically connected directly to the server. There are series of hops, also known as nodes, along the way. These hops make up the internet. Sometimes there will be congestion or other issues on a certain hop which can result in lag for some people and not for others depending on their location in the world. If you meet the system requirements and are only lagging on Aura Kingdom you will want to do a tracert to see where the connection is lagging.
      • The Servers - Sometimes the servers have problems. The best thing for you to do is to check the Aura Kingdom shoutbox and ask if others are having connection problems on your server.

        If you meet the system requirements, your connection, the connection between you and the server and the servers are all fine please make a new topic in the Technical Issues section of the forums so it can be looked into more thoroughly. Please include the steps you have already tried as well as a copy of the tracert


        Invalid Username and Password


        If you get "invalid username and password" while trying to log in. Please log out, then log back in the Aeria Games website. Then try to log into the game.


        If you have trouble after logging out and back into the Aura Kingdom site please try resetting your password by going to My Profile in the menu at the top right of the page (mouse over your name). When in your profile click Edit Profile then go to Account. You can change your password here. After changing the password try logging in.

        Launcher/Login Window are White


        If you start the launcher and the background/login window shows only white, there are a few things you can try.

        • Make sure Internet Explorer is up to date, you can do this by running Windows Update and allowing the Internet Explorer to install. Even if you do not use this for browsing, the launcher does and will produce this error if out of date.
        • Lower your Internet Explorer's Security Setting to Medium or lower.
        • Make sure that Adobe Flash plugins for Internet Explorer are installed and up to date.
        • Once again make sure Aura Kingdom are allowed through your anti-virus and firewall as they may be blocking them access to the internet.

      Launcher Says That Game is Under Maintenance When There Is No Maintenance

    • Close your launcher
    • Open up Internet Explorer and clear its cache

      Steps on clearing IE Cache

    • Reopen Launcher and try again
    • Try changing the IP in connect.ini

  • Game Crashes After Clicking "Start Game" On Launcher


    The three biggest causes of the game just closing after clicking "Start Game" on the launcher are Antivirus, DEP and certain chipsets needing to be run in compatibility mode. Antivirus programs sometimes will block software that they are unfamiliar with from running properly, in this case causing it to just close without any notice. While DEP (Data Execution Prevention) is a security mechanism in Windows that prevents code from being executed from non-executable memory regions. Simply put, it keeps it from doing nasty things. Unfortunately this can sometimes cause problems with legitimate programs.

    • Anti-Virus - First thing you will want to do is make sure any firewalls or antivirus you are running allow the _Launcher.exe to pass through. Since there are so many antivirus problems out there. We suggest using Google to do a search for "(Your Antivirus Name) add exception. This will most likely lead to guides on how to add exceptions to your antivirus.
    • DEP - DEP is available on Windows XP, Vista and 7.
      • Windows XP - First off keep in mind Windows XP is out of Support by Microsoft now. Right click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and Open the System Properties > Advanced > Performance Settings > Data Execution Protection. Then Add the _Launcher.exe and launcher.exe located in the Aura Kingdom installation folder. (Default C:\AeriaGames\AuraKingdom)
      • Windows Vista/7 - Right click Computer from the start menu and select Properties on the left side click Advanced System Settings > Performance Settings > Data Execution Protection. Then Add the _Launcher.exe and launcher.exe located in the Aura Kingdom installation folder. (Default C:\AeriaGames\AuraKingdom)

      After Changing DEP settings, restart your computer and try Aura Kingdom again.

    • Try running the _Launcher.exe in compatibility mode - properties, click the Compatibility tab, check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box and then select Windows XP SP2 or SP3. Then click OK and try Aura Kingdom again. This works on Vista and Windows 7 and usually benefits people with Intel graphics chipsets most.

    If these three things do not fix it try reinstalling Aura Kingdom.

    Render Device Error


    Renderer Device create failed!! happens generally for 2 reasons.

    • You have no video driver installed or it is corrupt/out of date. Go to your graphic card's manufacturer website and look for a video driver update and follow the instructions they give on installing them.
    • DirectX is not installed, corrupt or out of date. Download DirectX from Microsoft and install it or try the DirectX end-user redistributable if the web installer fails you.

    C++ Runtime Error


    Common fixes for the C++ Runtime Error include;

  • Cannot See Server Selection Screen, Other User Interface Disappearing or Flashing


    If you are having problems seeing the Server Selection Screen or other parts of the user interface try turning the UI Cache in the Launcher Options > Video and UI Cache to Off. Then try starting the game.


    If the above does not work make sure your video drivers are up to date.


    If you are unable to fix this error with the steps above please make a new topic in the Technical Issues section of the forums so it can be looked into more thoroughly. Please include the steps you have already tried and a copy of your dxdiag.


    My Screen is Glowing A Bright White


    If your screen is glowing brightly but you can still see parts of the interface and game it is generally due to the glow settings in game. Simply close out of Aura Kingdom and open the Launcher. Click Options > Video and then adjust the Glow settings. If they are Open try them on Close. Then start the game and see if it solves your problem. If it fails to do so try updating your video drivers.

    Missing Textures, solid colour items/ characters or invisible items/characters


    If you see characters that appear as a solid color or have an invisible body chances are it is due to a missing or corrupt texture file in Aura Kingdom.


    You can usually fix it by trying the following;

    • Run a Full Scan from the Launcher. Just click the full scan button to the left of the Start Game button on the launcher. This will verify and download any missing or corrupt files. Then try the game and see if it is working properly.
    • Make sure your video driver is up to date.
    • Reinstall Aura Kingdom

  • Trouble Clicking Buttons


    If you are having issues clicking buttons in game or while trying to log in try turning the UI Cache in the Launcher Options > Video and UI Cache to Off. Then try starting the game.


    If turning the UI Cache Off does not fix this issue make sure you have the proper drivers installed for your mouse.


    Cannot Talk In Game


    If you are unable to chat in game via any of the chat channels chances are you have been muted. All you need to do it hunt up a GS or GM so they can go about the process of getting you unmuted. You can usually find a GS or GM in the shoutbox


    Chatbox Resetting Each Time Logging On


    If your chatbox resets each time you log back in, change the name of your chatbox and your settings will be saved.

  • rio i am sory

    I have the same problem at the top when I install the game message showing that the corrupted files chose to ignore or abort or retry

    Is there another way to solve the problems except to download the game again
